Road Test Instructor
Responsibilities:
- Provide behind-the-wheel driving lessons for students.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to all students.
- Deliver effective feedback to all students in a professional manner.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Current valid Tennessee Motor Vehicle Class D license with F-Endorsement with no more than two moving serious traffic violations within a two-year period
- Manifest good driving habits indicating respect for traffic laws and regard for the safety of others on the highway
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Patience and enthusiasm
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work weekends and attend training during the day (advance notice will be provided for the training)
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality (confidentiality statement must be signed and adhered to)
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- AAA certification preferred, not required
The following will have to be submitted to the Department of Safety:
- A motor vehicle record (MVR)
- High school diploma or equivalency or transcripts
- Release of information for background check
- Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
This is a contractor position (1099) working approximately 10 hours per week. Pay is $20 per hour.
Defensive Driving Instructor
Responsibilities:
- Teach 8-hour driver improvement classes. Must be knowledgeable of the curriculum being taught (attend AAA certification class), be able to multi-task while teaching (ensuring students remain on camera, muting students as needed, maintaining attendance, and keeping students engaged).
- Provide enthusiastic classroom instruction online and in-person (enforcing mandatory COVID-19 guidelines).
- Must be an experienced driver, hold a Class D License for a minimum of 6 years and be willing to become AAA certified. Candidates must possess the ability to exhibit patience while following the rules of law enforcement.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Current TN driver's license with no (or limited) violations for at least three years (six years preferred) -- motor vehicle record (MVR) will be submitted to The Department of Safety
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Must obtain AAA Driver Instructor certification
- Must be able to pass a TN state background check. Results will have to be submitted to The Department of Safety
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Patience and enthusiasm
- Ability to remain calm under pressure

- Bilingual preferred
Technology Requirements:
- Must be comfortable working with Zoom (video conference)
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
This is a contractor position (1099) working approximately 16 hours per month. Pay is $15 per hour. Once all requirements are met and productivity is good, the opportunity to become an Instructor in the Driver Education program (road test and classroom instructor) will be presented.
